We recently had a week of rain. Often with Virginia weather, I miss the weather in the desert I lived in until just before I turned twelve. The past few days have been nice as we can finally see the blue sky again.
During the week of rain, I stayed on the deck. As I stood out there, I saw several types of birds come by including bluebirds, cardinals, and gray catbirds.
When the rain cleared, I witnessed several groundhogs that live nearby. I have seen two groundhogs together. In this area, I have seen foxes as well. I have been fascinated with the foxes recently and I hope to continue seeing them.
Unfortunately, as I photographed the groundhog last night, a kid on electric motorcycle decided to come onto the path. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the paths in this neighborhood. The electric motorcycle scared the groundhog and caused it to run away all the while people who had been walking had not bothered it.
