New camera spots fox

After celebrating Mother’s Day a day early with my mom at her request, I decided to go look at some cameras again as my camera has been malfunctioning. I bought a camera, and I am happy that I did. With the camera I bought in 2018, I have been having a lot of issues. I did try sending it in to be fixed, but they didn’t fix it and some other issues arose after they sent it back to me. I am happy to have a camera I can rely on again.

The new camera has almost three times the resolution as the old camera, but you likely won’t see a difference on the website as with how the website was designed, I must “resize” the images before I can upload. The person who made the website for me said that it is to “save space,” but perhaps that can be changed in the future.

As it started raining after I got the battery part of the way charged up, I couldn’t test the camera out much the first night. I had to wait until around lunchtime on Monday to go out as the rain finally stopped. I was very excited to test it out. It was hard to wait.

I first went out on my deck where I watched as several birds came by including a bluebird. After some time, a fox appeared in the neighbor’s yard. It turned towards me, took a few steps, then disappeared back into the forest. As I was up on the deck looking down at it, I can’t say those are my favorite pictures, but it was the second time I had my camera on me while being around a fox.

Eventually, I went to the tree in my front yard where I saw some more birds including a woodpecker. After some time there, I decided to walk one of the paths in the neighborhood where I eventually saw a groundhog.

I found it rather odd the first time I saw a groundhog in a tree. Unfortunately, I did not have time to focus on it either time. In this case, it fell.

Then, I saw another fox. After some time, the fox turned in the direction that the groundhog had been. After walking a short distance, it started running in the direction that it seemed the groundhog went. Both had disappeared into the forest. While I can’t confirm what happened, I presume the fox went after the groundhog.

As I walked back towards my house, I happened to see something I had not seen in months. A barred owl appeared in front of me. It flew across the path, landed in a tree, looked at me two times, and then flew off. Shortly after seeing that, I saw a hawk.

The following day, I saw a fox again. Just as fast as it appeared, it disappeared. I always feel lucky when I see one.
