Otters

Over the course of the past several months, I took a long break from taking pictures and writing blogs for the website. I have started getting out with the camera again the past few weeks. I have seen some otters, blue herons, owls, and woodpeckers.

There are some other people in the area who also watch the wildlife. Even on days when I am out, there are some interesting things that others saw that I missed. One day, someone told me that they happened to see one of the owls after it had caught what it was hunting and landed in a tree not too far away from the path to eat its meal.

Up until I saw the otters and spent some time watching them, I did not realize how big they are. One of the times that I was observing them, I heard some snorting sound that they were making. If I had to guess, they were trying to get the water out of their nasal passages.

The first day that I spent watching the otters, I only saw one above the water at any given time. I later realized that there were at least three otters living in that area.

I found them to be very interesting to observe. I think that if you get the chance to see otters, you will also enjoy watching them.
